MT. MAKULOT CLEANUP DRIVE


Greetings!

Philippine National Mountaineering Society (PNMS) would like to express their sincerest concern for the preservation and protection of our forests and the environment. In this regard, the Group will be conducting a series of cleanup projects to start initially at Mt. Makulot in Cuenca, Batangas on February 7 to 8, 2009. This voluntary event will be co-sponsored by some companies, mountaineering clubs and other civic organizations. The cleanup will be divided into 4 parts:

1. Dissemination of information
* environmental awareness
* effects of deforestation to the community
* waste management

1. Mountain cleanup

·Trail and campsite cleanup

·Cleanup on other critical areas of the mountain

1. Program and other activities

1. Fund raising campaign

They pray that this project will contribute to the promotion of responsible Mountaineering in the Philippines and to the development of a community that will be responsible to protect our environment.
